The Rail City Curling Club holds multiple Open House and Learn to Curl events throughout the year at Altoona's Galactic Ice! These events are available to the public, 18 years of age and older.

Additionally, we offer private corporate events geared toward teaching communication and teamwork through the sport of curling and a lot of fun!

OPEN HOUSE

Open House events provide a first time, 1.5 hour experience and are perfect for anyone looking to take that first step onto the ice or just looking for a fun activity for a night.  You will receive a short off-ice safety briefing/introduction and then it's out on the ice for some fun.

LEARN TO CURL (LTC)

Learn to Curl events welcome both first time and returning curlers alike.  LTCs typically run for 3 hours with a more in depth off-ice presentation of the sport preceding on-ice instruction by USCA (United States Curling Association) certified instructors.  You will be given the opportunity to dive into all aspects of the sport from delivery and sweeping to strategy and scoring.

Tickets for Open House and LTC events can be purchased up until the start of the event.  Check Open House and Learn to Curl pages for dates, times, and ticket purchases. A limited number of tickets are available for each event.  If we do not sell out online prior to the event, we will offer ticket sales at the door.
